La Corbeille was created in 1987 to meet the community’s need for help (distribution of food bags to the most deprived by les Sœurs de la Providence).
Its community mission is food aid to disadvantaged people through a community grocery store Le Magasin d’Émilie, meals in primary schools in the area for children eligible for the food measure and programs aimed at strengthening support, movement and autonomy.
The organization also has a socio-professional integration component for people far from the labour market.
